Christianity was introduced to the Americas as it was first colonized by Europeans beginning in the 16th and 17th centuries. Immigration further increased Christian numbers. Today most Christian churches in the United States are Mainline Protestant, Evangelical, or Roman Catholic. Christian denominations in the United States are usually divided in three large groups, Evangelical Protestantism, Mainline Protestantism and Roman Catholicism. There are also Christian denominations that do not fall within either of these groups, such as Eastern Orthodoxy, but they are much smaller. Evangelicals held the view that the modernist and liberal parties in the Protestant churches had surrendered their heritage as Evangelicals by accommodating the views and values of the world. At the same time, they criticized their fellow Fundamentalists for their separatism and their rejection of the Social Gospel as it had been developed by Protestant activists of the previous century. They charged the modernists with having lost their identity as Evangelicals and the Fundamentalists with having lost the Christ-like heart of Evangelicalism. The first generation of New England Puritans required that church members undergo a conversion experience that they could describe publicly. Their successors were not as successful in reaping harvests of redeemed souls. The movement began with Jonathan Edwards, a Massachusetts preacher who sought to return to the Pilgrims' strict Calvinist roots.
Let us be active in sharing gospels to others and we will not just a passive. By this we saw how Christianity goes through different stages, through ups and downs in our Christianity life let us not be discouraged instead let our life be an example to others.

closing of 18th century
It is marked with the Great Awakening in America, along with theirs an expansion of Spaniards for Catholicism. By this great awakening our beliefs stretches to know the truth and we our not blinded to know who Christ is. People became passionately and emotionally involved in their religion, rather than passively listening to intellectual discourse in a detached manner. Ministers who used this new style of preaching were generally called "new lights", while the preachers of old were called "old lights". People began to study the bible at home. George Whitefield came over from England and made many converts. The Great Awakening emphasized the traditional Reformed virtues of Godly preaching, rudimentary liturgy, and a deep sense of personal guilt and redemption by Christ Jesus. It resulted from powerful preaching that deeply affected listeners with a deep sense of personal guilt and salvation by Christ. Pulling away from ritual and ceremony, the Great Awakening made religion personal to the average person.
How amazing that in the 18th Century still Christianity grows though there are some denominations at that time, but they didn't give up so that evangelicals would spread and grow. It had a major impact in reshaping the Congregational, Presbyterian, Dutch Reformed, and German Reformed denominations, and it strengthened the small Baptist and Methodist denominations. It brought Christianity to the slaves and was an apocalyptic event in New England that challenged established authority.
I learned that through Great Awakening we transformed into a life of Christianity that we know God. May our life be a channel of blessings, a salt and light of this world that willing to defend Christ and what we believe.

Ongoing conflicts afflicts Christianity
The almost constant awareness today in the western media of conflict associated with religion is reflected in a rapidly growing scholarly literature on the topic. At the forefront of such studies is a natural preoccupation with its most visual, newsworthy, and disruptive aspect its expression in physical violence. Conflict occurs when something is contested. Religious conflict is a much larger phenomenon, however, than religiously-motivated violence, while even religious violence itself is not simple. When we couple religion with conflict, we might expect that what is contested is ideology or morality (i.e., belief). Since the awakening of religion, wars have been fought in the name of different gods and goddesses. Still today most violent conflicts contain religious elements linked up with ethno national, inter-state, economic, territorial, cultural and other issues. Threatening the meaning of life, conflicts based on religion tend to become dogged, tenacious and brutal types of wars. When conflicts are couched in religious terms, they become transformed in value conflicts.
Despite an increase in the attention to the religious dimension of conflicts, it remains an under-researched field. There is no useful typology of religious conflicts; no serious study of the impact of religious organizations on conflict behavior; no comparative research of peace-making and peace-building efforts of different religious organizations. They will have to end conflicts fueled by religion, stop being passive bystanders and organize themselves to provide more effective peace services

Roman Empire
For many centuries the fall of Rome marked the death kneel of education and literacy, architecture, and economic interaction. Dark ages was more necessary evil, Rome had to fall to destroy large scale of slavery. The captive barbarians are being fed to wild animals in the Colosseum. The central Roman state collapsed because the migrants forcibly stripped of its tax base which it has used to fund its armies, not because of long term transformation. As the central Roman state ceased to exert power in their localities, they either had to do such deals, or lose the lands that were the basis of their entire wealth. And even where Roman landowners survived, the effects of Rome's fall nonetheless revolutionary.
Many things happened in the pass, many thing happened in our Christianity world. Their are violent reactions and process that come through, but still God is working at hand and transforming the lives of the Roman empire people. At this point of view we see the selfishness of the people, bragging for their selves and not for the glory of God.
In our life we seems to do that things too, not looking to others sake but only for the sake of our self, may this transformation be the caused that we come closer to God. We need to thank the Roman Empire to the things that they suffer that we did not suffer too.

Dark ages...
How Dark Christianity was?
Dark ages emphasis the deterioration of cultural and economical that occurred in the Roman Empire. This was characterized during the 6th - 14th century. The Period is characterized by a relative scarcity of historical and other written records at least for some areas of Europe, rendering it obscure to historians. Within a few years, the leader of what was called the Christian Church were nothing more than bosses of vicious gangs who murdered their rivals for power and position.
Many leaders lead and succeeded and arrested. Constantine wanted to seize power in the east as well as the west, and he saw the Christian cult as the means to his goal. Many things that happened in the time of Dark Ages, what we do not know about happened in our History of Christianity now dark ages reveals us on how Christianity conquered and exist.
It is possible for us to understand how degraded people's minds had become during those 16th centuries in Europe.

historian
If we look at the life of the people, just like our church fathers we can really know them who they are. It's amazing how God works in their lives so that we, today can know God better.
Erasmus Desiderius his life was been changed though he was an illegitimate child but then God is working in his life and we cannot judge him. He has an accurate knowledge for Greek language and he had also many contribution; another is Zwingli, he opposed to unmarried priest, selling indulgences and he tried to apply in scriptural basis, He preach in German language which his people can understand. thirdly is John Calvin, he has a reasons for unexpected turn, he has a strong movement for reform in the church.
Though this three has a different characteristics but still God, is working in their lives yet sometimes we cannot understand how God's plan for our lives but still his purpose will be good and His plan will come true.

Francis of Assisi
It is no use walking anywhere to preach unless our walking is our preaching.

Why Christians doesn't walk their preaching? Why Christians is the number agent of the bad doings rather be the agent of change? What happen to us now Christians?
This quote reminds me of how Christians be the agent of everything for God's Kingdom. We sometimes and often times preach in a useless way because we didn't live by it. We didn't recognize how God's spirit work us through and through. It's so sad that we live in a Christian world but our action is not appropriate, and the tendency is that; we influence other Christians to be hostile in this desolated world.
Christians must be an agent of change but how we can be an agent if we are not walking into the right tract? Assisi reminds me of how Christians live and be an agent through walking their preaching. Sometimes its hard but I let God to undergo this process. I ask God for this experience that i am right now because I feel the emptiness in my heart that I am useless in teaching children and young people without walking with what I told them. I know that I failed in some matters; but I let God to do His will in my life.
I need and I must walk what i talk because I am God's Child and to see others that Christ is living in me.

remember me
Being in God’s calling is difficult but you need to endure it,
making a difference in the life of the people that you are ministering of. I am
aware that I am God’s minister and sometimes in my life I tend to fail God, and
the people who looked at me. We definitely make a peoples difference if they
saw that we are an agent of age. Change starts within us.
It’s so sad to leave my current area of ministry, missing
those people who encourages me when they feel that I am weak, those people who
accepted me for who I am and what I am and thinking those children in the field
that when we come in their place they smile at us because they are happy that
we visited them and teach them. I really don’t know what the will of God is whether
I come back or not. But back of my mind said that let them do it so that they will learn. Same with with my home church.
Oh I don’t know my feeling about this, I remembered when we
had our youth fellowship in the church that someone asked us how would you
remember when you are dead? For me it’s so hard and I don’t know how people
would remember me in the ministry maybe some of my closest friends in the
ministry would tell that I am a strict, perfectionist woman. But for me I would
like to remember that I am so blessed that I know Christ who gives patience,
joy, understanding and to share His love to other people. A person who is
strict yet a giver, sharing my passion to others. Its always strike me this question of how people would remember me because i am not a people center especially those people I first met, i felt hard to put my trust to them and to mingle with them; I am a person who is hard to adjust. Thinking those time I know that God uses me in a different ways and bringing passion to the little ones, strengthening my spiritual growth and putting my trust to Him more and more.

changing and transforming
In this temporal world we have ups and downs in our lives. Christians as we are, we need not to give up but rather to stand firm in Christ. Being a Christian is not easy even you grow up in a Christian home because sometimes friends influence you and me. Through the ebb of facing our daily lives we also face many challenges like in our emotional, social and spiritual and the battle is there.
We may not know what comes tomorrow in our lives but we need to trust in Christ alone. Christians are being mandated to plant seed or even to plant an apple tree which is the message of God. Martin Luther encourage us that even in the upside down of this world we need to share God's message, not giving up to the challenges that may comes in our way. Dreams and plans may come and go but the word of God still remains in the heart of His people.
Changing our life and perspective into Christ eyes perspective view. Sometimes we don't understand what God wants us, but we know that He has a better plans for our lives.Changing and transforming is sometimes hurtful, experiencing pain and broke your heart, but at the end the process is enduring. Each of us has a different perspective in life but God has a better perspective than ours. Transforming is like a caterpillar, he need to go into the process to transform into a butterfly and we like that.
We need to change ourselves first before changing other, though the process is painful but at the end we have a better developed Children of God that ready to face the battles of Christian life. Be strong in facing the change of life and not to fear it. Enduring every seconds that God wants you to be who you are.
Work it to the Glory of God and not for men!
